18th International Congress of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2023

The 18th International Congress of Minimally Invasive Surgery

The 18th International Congress of Minimally Invasive Surgery was held from October 1st to 3rd, 2023, at the Tabriz Petrochemical Complex.

This congress witnessed the participation of a large number of surgical specialists in Tabriz and led to significant scientific exchanges. Given that various disciplines are involved in minimally invasive surgery, the collaboration of different surgical groups under the guidance of prominent surgeons in the country, along with the valuable presence of experienced professors and young surgeons, created an opportunity to discuss and analyze new scientific findings and debatable topics through presentations and panel discussions.

The scientific secretary of the congress stated that the aim of holding this congress was to increase and enhance the knowledge and familiarity of surgeons, especially young surgeons, with new methods of minimally invasive surgery. Renowned and experienced professors from all over the country and several foreign centers were also present at this congress.

He added: "The target groups of this congress include general surgery and its subspecialties, such as thoracic surgery, pediatric surgery, trauma surgery, colorectal surgery, and bariatric surgery. Additionally, gynecology, otolaryngology, urology, and anesthesiology are also participating in this congress and will present their articles and specialized panels."

The scientific committee of this congress, in collaboration with the Endoscopic Surgery Society, had been planning for about eight months prior to the event to have the presence of more than 100 domestic speakers and to establish video conferencing with speakers residing abroad, including the United States, Switzerland, Germany, and France.

In this congress, out of more than 150 submitted articles and presentations, 100 presentations and eight roundtables and panels were selected by the scientific committee.

Another important point was the continuous medical education that was considered for this congress. The extensive presence of professors and researchers in our country at this scientific gathering was undoubtedly the most important reason for the high scientific level of the congress. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Hossein Koushi, the founder of laparoscopic surgery in northwestern Iran, was honored at this congress.

Fara Teb Jarrah Company also participated in this congress in the field of staplers and laparoscopic surgical instruments, which are manufactured using advanced technology, to stand alongside experienced surgeons and professors and, relying on modern and efficient methods in the production of medical instruments and establishing a strong bond with the medical community, to work towards improving patient health, which is our motto.

Some of the objectives of participating in this congress include:

  • Introducing current and future products
  • Meeting with surgeons
  • Receiving feedback and opinions
  • Being present at the congress alongside other competitors to consolidate the position and brand in the Iranian market
  • Exchanging views with surgeons about the status of current products and receiving any opinions and suggestions about future products
